BEST TIME TO VISIT ZANZIBAR.
The most popular time to visit Zanzibar is during the dry season, from June to October, and from December to February. However, Zanzibar Island is a great beach
destination all year round. Even during the wet season (mid-March, April, May, November) it is beautiful, since the rain showers don’t last much longer than 30 minutes and the temperatures still remain around 28 C. February is the hottest month in Zanzibar (average 28 C), while July (average 24 C) is the coldest. Given its tropical climate, it’s always a good time to visit Zanzibar.

Zanzibar offers a wealth of lodges, hotels, and resorts. It has everything, ranging from basic accommodation to ultra-luxury. ZANZIBAR HOLIDAY REVIEWS.
“Zanzibar is a fantastic, beautiful island. I stayed in the village of Jambiani and the Zanzibari (local people) are so friendly and welcoming. They are always up for a chat.
The beaches, spice farms, forests, and little villages are so beautiful. The only drawback i can think of is the lack of museums, but it can also be I did not go to the right places. There are so many nice restaurants and bars on the island where you can eat delicious local or western meals and dance.
ZANZIBAR BEACHES
Zanzibar offers the world’s most beautiful beaches. Soft white sandy beaches surrounded by colorful coral reefs and the crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean. Zanzibar island has about 25 beaches, sprinkled with fishing villages. Should you stay north or rather choose the south or east coast of Zanzibar?
- NORTH COAST: Zanzibar‘s best beaches are on the north and east coast of the island, all with crystal white sand and colorful coral reefs. Nungwi and Kendwa are one of the most popular beaches since they do not have to deal with high and low tides. It has a chilled atmosphere with numbers of restaurants, bars and accommodation options. So if youseek real peace and privacy you should visit another part of the island (like the east or south). The north is home to villages like Uroa, Pongwe, Kiwengwa, Nungwi and Kendwa.
- EAST COAST: At the east coast of the island you will find the most idyllic beaches. Along the eastern coastline runs a beautiful coral reef, a top world spot for snorkelling and diving. Youcan immerse yourself in the abundance of marine life, such as sea horses, turtles and many tropical fish. The beaches at this east coast are very tidal. During low tide youcan take a walk on the beach and enjoy the ocean views. If you love wind- or kite surfing this is the right place for you. Matemwe beach is the longest and one of the most beautiful ones at this site of the island. Like in the north, there is a wealth of accommodation options.
- SOUTH-EAST: This part of the island is known for its long stretch of soft sandy beaches. It is the best spot on the island for sailing or kite- and windsurfing, thanks to steady winds. Hop on a traditional wooden sailboat (dhow) and sail the ocean, or go swimming with dolphins at Kizimkazi (south). Here you will find little villages like Jambiani, Paje and Bwejuu. These small fishing village have a nice timeless atmosphere with friendly people. One of our favorite villages is Jambiani. Check out why we think Jambiani is the place to be in Zanzibar. If you visit the south, do not forget to go to Menia Bay Conservation Area. This is a spectacular underwater world for divers. The western coast is home to the fascinating old Stone Town, the cultural and historical center of Zanzibar. The tropical island of Zanzibar is known for its beautiful white sandy beaches and coral reefs. MNEMBA ATOLL SNORKELING.
Mnemba Atoll is a protected oceanic area off north eastern Zanzibar near Matemwe with excellent visibillty depths ranging from ten to thirty meters . It includes the small triangular island of Mnemba and a reef area comprising of two by four miles’ This breathtaking marine ecosystens famous for sightings of green turtles and dolphins that like to join you as you snorkel or dive while the seasonal migrating humpback whales announce their presence with an occasional spout of water You will enjoy two 45 minute long snorkelling sessions at different sites. In between your snorkel stops you will have a 45-minute break wit
snacks and tea.
Following your last stop, the boat will return to the dive centre. If you have never dived before but would like to (instead of snorkeling), you can also consider the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program.
Be prepared:
We do rather suggest the snorkeling trip at Mnemba Atoll to spot dolphins than the Kizimkazi Dolphin Tour, for mutiple reasons. Though the most important thing to know is that there is no guarantee for both spots to see them, because they remain wild animals in the ocean. But if ever you won spot them at Mnemba Atoll, you’ll have at least an excellent snorkeling experience with various corals and fish species to discover.
DHOW SUNSET CRUISES.
Traditional Cruising around small islands and along the coast line on a dhow is a fantastic and memorable experience. The sunsets viewed from the dhow are evocative and timeless. Beverages and fruit or snacks served on the dhow are usually included, and most are also equipped with an outboard engine.
We offer shared Dhow Sunset Cruises along Stone Town’s seafront with a maximum of 12 people. Dhow sunset cruises start at 4:30 from the beach or any other beach and end around 7:00 p.m.
LOCAL AND DEEP SEA FISHING.
The waters of the Indian Ocean around Zanzibar, especially in the strait between Zanzibar and Pemba, provide an excellent opportunity for deep sea fishing. The fishing season lasts from September to March. The catch consists of such fish as bonito, barracuda, yellowfin tuna, marlin and other deep-sea fish.
Close to shore along the west, north and east coast of Zanzibar, regular catches include Rainbow Runners, Bonito, Kingfish , Barracuda, Wahoo, Dorado and Sailfish. You can find Stonefish in almost all the reefs that we visit.
The ngalawa or ungalawa is a traditional, double-outrigger canoe of the Swahili people living in Zanzibar and the Tanzanian coast. It is usually 5–6 m long and has two outriggers, a centrally-placed mast (often inclining slightly towards the prow) and a single triangular sail.

SPICE TOUR.
A spice tour is a wonderful way of exploring the countryside around Stone Town and Zanzibar‘s rural communities. Indeed no trip to Zanzibar can be considered complete without a visit to one of our carefully selected spice farms.
For centuries Zanzibar‘s spices, medicinal plants and tropical fruits attracted traders across the Indian Ocean. This 3-4 hour tour will seduce your senses with a mixture of various smells, tastes and textures.
Among the many different plants, you will encounter are the henna bush, ylang-ylang, the lipstick tree, iodine plant, cocoa, cassava, dasheen cocoyam and – yes, Zanzibar coffee! Explore the island’s abundance of mouthwatering tropical fruits like jackfruit, pineapples,
bananas, green coconut (madafu), durian, love apple (matufaa), rambutan (shoki-shoki), soursop (mabungo) and starfruit (carambola).

Firstly, you’ll visit the Mnarani Turtle Conservation Project, a local NGO that provides shelter and protection to Hawksbill Turtles as well as the endangered Green Turtles. The aquarium itself is a natural pool carved out from the coral bedrock by the erosion of millions of waves crashing against the shore. The water rises and falls with the tides, providing a natural environment for its inhabitants.

The island was, however, reportedly used by an Arab slave trader to contain the feistier and more troublesome slaves he had brought from the African mainland. Later it became a quarantine station – but mostly it was a conveniently located leisure spot for the wealthier townsfolk.

Connector383921896342023-05-16Verified Zanzibar Thomas is a true professional travel guide and you don't need any other to make your trip perfect!!! Giorgio C2022-08-16Verified Great tour and amazing Safari This experience need to be written because it is something that remain for all life. The driver was attending us at the airport despite the late and the guide of Tarangiri was fully preparate. One of the best experience in my life. The lodge between the nights of safari is clean and comfortable and it seems you are in a 5 stars hotel. Thomas is always care about you, trust him.Experience that I need to suggest to everyone. Vincent2021-11-18Verified More than a Safari Trip I had no idea I'd be getting much more than a tour to see wild animals. Frank was the best driver we could've asked for (Franks Ferrari Safari!!), and he knew more than we thought there was to know.It all started when we met Thomas, our guide, in Zanzibar. He turned 4 days of safari into a story that will stay with me forever. Arusha park, Manyara, Tarangire and Ngorongoro are almost impossible to pronounce but most definitely impossible to forget. We started our travels with this man as our guide and we finished it with a new brother. He took us beyond the touristy African planes and opened the doors of his home. I'm not sure when I'll be back there, but I'll always remember the man who befriended us, showed us his home and shot me a smile at all the songs I played wile driving trough the wild. Casey-lee D2021-11-15Verified READ THIS REVIEW ! This was a lifetime experience I will honestly never forget. Thomas and Frankie went ABOVE AND BEYOND all expectations. They were more than guides, they were friends we will never forget. After the tour we were even personally invited to his home to meet his children and family and were given a local tour of the school. The parks were beautiful and there wasn’t a single question left unanswered. In the day we saw plenty of wildlife and in the evening we got our asses whipped at the local bars pool table. Would highly recommend. Cannot wait to be back with Uncle Frankies Ferrari Safari. Jonathan2021-11-14Verified Safari Amazing experience, good guide and good Prices. We had the best time and saw all the animals that we wanted to see. Woud recommend! Clara & Joelle2021-09-13Verified Great experience We did the Safari at Tarangire, Nrongoro and Lake Manyara and enjoyed it a lot. The driver was really kind and told us many things about nature and animals. The camp where we stayed at night didnt meet our expectations. In the tent it was really loud at night and the food that our group has gotten was not really tasty and different to other groups food at the Restaurant. Anyways the Safari was the most important part for us and this was a very overwhelming experience. We liked it a lot!
